Would it ever be stable like this? How much more could we ask for? As of writing, Qsat currently is working well with the basics channels.

Qsat has all the Super sport channels working well in exception of SS1, SS2, and 9.

For the lovers of Mnet channels, we can enjoy Mnet Action, Mnet Action +, Mnet Romance, Mnet Comedy. The others are not opening but we hope so.

Sony Max, St Universe, Telemundo, Trace also works well.

Generally, the others would also kick start.

Of course Qsat 26g is not the latest product from the Qsat models; Q28g is. This provides the option of watching the terrestrial channels too in addition. It would surprise you that Q26g however has done far better in the Qsat models; 3 different ways.

  1. Stability

Stability has been one of the few cankers that have barked many off from using Qsat decoders. In light of this, Q26g is an option you may want to consider. I can guarantee that Q26g is more stable than the older models. In light of the Canal Sat option, it still gives us the pleasure of enjoying our live matches. It can stay on for more than 15 min and not go scramble. Even should it come, it does go in a second. Do not forget that it is always the Network Reception and Server in question. Though the Adult channels still remains a hindrance, we can still enjoy our live matches as engineers work on it though.

  1. Affordable

Just like the other Qsat decoders, you can get Qsat at an affordable price. As you know, Q28g is costive than Q26g. If you ask me why, I will tell you it is because of the Terrestrial option. As we all know, the more features and quality it provides, the higher in pricing. If you have Q11g, or 23g you may want to give Q26g a try. You can get it as low as GHC 350. With an additional dish installed for Canal Sat, you are sure to say goodbye to ‘scramble channel’ for a while.

  1. SS3NI Resolved

Rather unfortunately, not all of us are able to track SS3NI on our decoders. This is due to an error during programming. Interestingly, it has been rectified on Q26g. To my best of knowledge, I am yet to see a Q26g decoder without the SS3NI. It is prudent to understand that though some may experience scratches; this is due to so many factors. Ranging from the Disec switch to the Signal quality, they are just a few to say. One thing we can confirm is that on Q26g, ‘everything’ seems to work out perfectly. As we all know SS3NI, SS5NI and SS7NI seems to show the important matches and our favourite sports. In view of that, Q26g is the best to go for

With the Football season having began with the EPL, LA LIGA, BUNDESLIGA, FRENCH LIGUE and yet the UEFA Champions League to follow, wouldn’t you rather go for Q26g to rest yourself from ‘scramble channel’ for a while. Maybe just a glance through the 3 reasons stated above. I bet you would love it.

‘The toad does not run in the daytime unless it chasing something or something is after it’ says one Nigerian Proverb. With SS3, SS3Ni, SS3NW off as of the time of writing, you would agree with me SS1, SS2, SS4, SS5, SS6, SS7, SS9 may not suffice the matches you would love to watch. There are some channels which does the same work as SS3.
1. Maximo is a Spanish word translating greatest possible. It is prefixed Max. Max 1P is a Spanish Version of SS3. Though it hardly opens, you can still give it a try. It shows live matches just as SS3 and co. However, this is in Spanish so you will need to change the audio. All steps as to locating these channels and their respective audio are stated below the article.
2. Max 1 is the channel that opens more frequently. As of the time of writing, it was working well. Generally, all matches played on Super sport are transmitted there too. It is for the Spanish people in mind. Though they sometimes show MotoGp racing and some other programmes that SS1, 2, 5, 7 and 9 would telecast, it is nonetheless a good place to watch your matches when SS3 is scrambled. Though I cannot guarantee it stability in terms of not showing Scrambled Channel often, they do well too in major matches as SS3.
3. Moreover, Max 2 if I should say is a Grand Master. It is does same work as Max1. However, it is quicker to telecast SS3 matches than Max1. In any case, it is a good deal to watch especially during this Copa America, CAF, and the Europe Qualification matches.
4. Finally, Max 2P serves as a direct substitute just like SS3Ni and SS3NW to SS3. It does behave like Max1P. Hardly opens but of course as it is there it will come definitely. It is a Spanish channel too.
In a nutshell, these channels are Spanish based channels and play same role as SS3.

To make things easier,
a. Press Ok on your remote
b. If it is on Eutelsat 36 satellite already,
c. Press the Green button
d. And select M
In this case, it would show all Channels starting with M
And there you would have all the Max channels listed
Press on any that which you like
Enjoy yourself

If you are on a different satellite,
a. Press Sat on your remote
b. Locate the Sat name where you often watch the SS3
c. Press Ok
d. Press the Green Button
e. And select M
In this case, it would show all Channels starting with M
And there you would have all the Max channels listed
Press on any that which you like
Enjoy yourself

There is one other way which is dynamic.
Thus, using the numbers directly
In my case,
Max 1P=169
Max 1=162

Also, the audio can be changed by pressing
a. The Audio Button on your remote.
b. First make sure it is on any of the Max channels.
c. Select Stereo/Audio
d. Right/Left

NB: I would not advise you use these numbers though it can work for you as it did for me. The fact is the numbers varies. Due to the different satellites installed for you and probably the arrangement of the channels.

‘It’s all down to the weakening of the satellite signal, Avanti say “as it passes through raindrops, fog, heavy cloud cover or high winds”. Avanti, a provider of satellite broadband packages, would tell you if asked. There is Satellite up in the Sky, which receives transmissions from An Earth Station Up Link which then converts it and resends it to an Earth Station Downlink which then distributes to our digital receivers finally. Note that, when there is an interruption, it would probably affect the quality of channels you watch.
1. Multi tv channels in particularly have been hurt so much on these phenomenon. For the past 4 weeks ago, it has been showing ‘Service Unavailable’ on most channels. This became very intense on the night Juventus was playing against Barcelona in EUFA Champions League final on Tv3. As at that time, it was only 4 Kids, and Joy News that was working. Most customers who put their minds on Tv3 were disappointed with their digibox. Even now, some channels do behave so. Fortunately, it does come back. However, when it does happen when you so much need one programme to watch, you can imagine how frustrated you can be. Hopefully, it is not a fault of your own which needs an Installer. It is the insurgency of the rain and wind. When it rains, it makes it difficult for the Satellite in the sky to resend transmissions to the Earth Station downlink, talk less of your receiver catching it. It is experienced not only in Ghana or Africa but Europe too. It is the main reason why Sky Tv and its network use C-band. Though it does affect it also, it may minimise. Mind you, it is not only Service Unavailable.
2. Moreover, you can also face the issue of Bad Signal. This does begins when it looks like there is a scratch in the programme you are watching. For those having good signal qualities, it would have to rain heavy before you can expect anything of that sort. In any case, after the weather is clear, it is supposed to resume. Nonetheless, when it does not, you may have to call your installer to check it for you. It is all due to the transmission of signal through the atmosphere. The worst that can happen is for the dish to be faced with trees or be removed entirely because of the heavy down pour. I will advise installers to be careful when installing dish at places where there are trees. Both users of Qsat, Multitv, Strong among others would face these problems. Though it is less when using a C-band. On the other hand, it does not help people with Ka band since their dishes are very small.
3. Finally, users of Qsat may have double of these. You would agree with me that Q-sat uses a sim card in operation. Since the sim card is network based, the same instance does happen to networks too. Give it a try. Tyr surfing the web whiles it is raining. Whiles Q-sat users may be having bad signal, they would have to wait or contend with ‘Network Connection Success’ which does appears before ‘Welcome to server…’ With those with Wi-Fi, you may experience some difficulties too but not as those with the sim card. Peradventure bundling the data may be worse. Hopefully, this does happens to people using Sim card based receivers to watch Dstv or Canal Sat only. You cannot control this though; you could hopefully wait for the rain to subside in order to continue watching.

In a nutshell, they are the basic problems that you can face during the raining season.

Q28g is the latest Qsat product produced by Shenzhen JCL Technology Co., Ltd in China. It comes with awesome features to add more beef to the Q26g.

  1. It has 2 accounts embedded in it. One for Dstv and Canals sat. Also it is T2 enabled. This means that you can watch Terrestrial channels free on it too. The digital channels can be viewed in addition to your satellite channels.
  2. Hopefully it comes with 1 year free account for both Dstv and Canal sat. It starts counting down from the day you connect to server. Thus, the number of days.
  3. It does not need an USB Modem, Ethernet Cable or Wi-Fi before it kicks start. You can use your normal Sim card for it. Nevertheless, the latter is not a must.
  4. It does support cccam, new cam and avatar cam. So hopefully if you have any of these, you can try them on it.
  5. It has only 1 HDMI port, 2 USB slots, 1 Ethernet input, 1 RCA {YPbPr/CVBS/AL/AR} these are for the video side where the three pins do go, it also has a CA card slot, Sim slot, and then RS232 input too.
  6. For the lovers of surfing the web, you can hopefully watch YouTube, You porn
  7. It supports Google Map
  8. It also supports Yahoo Weather
  9. For the lovers of Selfies among others, it has Picasa and Yupoo
  10. Finally, you can play an N32 game on it. The Nintendo type.

So you see, the new Q28g is really going to suffice everyone need. Hope you will enjoy it.

“It is only the hunter who knows what actually happens in the forest” one school of thought claims. Installers generally have a way of relating to a customer. Depending on so many factors like experiences, motive, mood among others. However, there are 7 things they would wish you do not know yet.

  1. Installers are profit conscious. In cases where you have to buy a particular good, there are of course same goods on the market but different prices. They are all in any case substitutes. For instance a Disec switch. One store will sell it at GHC 20.00 whiles another store may sell it at GHC 25.00. The fact is that one store too may actually sell it at GHC 10.00. In this case the installer would prefer to mention or refer you to the store which sells it at GHC 25.00. And when you do know where it can be sold at GHC 20.00, he tells you it is not of a good quality.
  2. It is a natural phenomenon to always want to work with different people in as much you keep your old customers. They sometimes when called upon to solve a particular problem would notice a different one which may begin to show up some few weeks later or months. When he is through with the required work called upon. He would not tell you of the upcoming one which could be easily prevented fully or at a low-cost. The assumption is that different work, different charge. So he would probably not give you his expert advice on making that problem dissolve. Instead for another day.
  3. Installers do not want to be questioned much. Yes, that is the fact. He wants you to just relax and watch what he does. Not complaining, commenting, or questioning. Sometimes it looks like you want to bite more than you can chew. So he might not like it definitely.
  4. In some cases, like signal loses, you would probably not want to pay much after a heavy cost in first time installation. Depending on the installer, he can choose to charge you high though the work required to be done are minimal. Peradventure the coaxial cable running from the dish to your decoder has removed from the connector. So it shows bad or no signal. As a lame man, you would think it is from the dish. Probably because a wind blew heavy yesterday before the rain began. So when you call him, since very experienced, he can detect where the problem is coming from with just some few checking not necessarily touching the dish. If it happens so you would prefer paying him small which he would not like. To end all those dramas, he would climb up, temper with the dish for about 30 minutes whiles asking you to check for signal quality. Come in and run some settings from the menu for about 10 minutes and then finally re-fix the coaxial cable which removed from the decoder’s back. Just to make sure he has done some really good work meanwhile he could actually do that on coming. So you see you may be compelled to pay high after the whole process meanwhile a little could have been ok.
  5. Installers like to really convince customers that they know best in their field. For instance telling you that he can install 4 LNB’s on one dish. Installing over 100 channels for you which are Free to Air {FTA} among others. Generally, a good installer should know how to convince a customer who may not be willing to buy or do so after all. If you ask a Marketing Student, you will hear “business strategy”. Where as you may not be ready to get a particular work done today, for persuasion, you would obviously. This is one of the techniques they employ.
  6. Charging based on statue or wealthy nature. I know this is not fair. Nevertheless, when an installer finds out that you have enough money on you, he will be tempted to give you high prices of things definitely you are not aware when needs buying. Or even the cost for installation, signal lost among others, he will probably charge you high if it reminds him that you have bunch. Vice-versa when you are not all that rich, he may consider and give you moderate prices for your statue sakes.
  7. Finally, though very bad on their side, you could imagine yourself calling them every two weeks or a month after a new installation has been done. Sometimes, an installer may not render to you a professional service. In that, he does a shoddy work after all. It means that peradventure allowing the bolt and nuts holding the angle bar to be loose behind the dish, using few nails to hold the stand, giving you a low signal quality among others. These obviously mean you have to call them back after a month because it has not been done well. If you are not lucky, you would be charged high to see them do it for you again. The worst of all is that the trend may continue in that after 3 or 4 months you have to call them again, why, there is a heavy downpour of rain.

“How does the whole Satellite Installation process look like? Why cannot I install one myself?”Satellite dish installation is a tedious task in any way. This is not saying you cannot install one. However there are five basics things you need to know before going for an installation.

1. Have the required tools like the spanner, screw drivers, pliers among others and materials like the nails, black tape, LNB connectors and just to mention a few.

2. Know the satellite you want to track and the Transponder Frequency including the Symbol Rate. Every satellite and the direction the dish must face. Basically they are East and West. Also to determine whether you are facing the East or the West, you can hopefully look at similar dish positions around the area you are but it is not guaranteed as one may face the West whiles you want to track from the East. You may get confused in this case. So I will advise you use the ‘Shadow Factor’. I discovered this personally on my own. When it is in the morning before noon and your shadow is on the left side, it implies that your right side is the East. When it is after noon and the shadow is on the right side, it implies East is on you right. Very simple.

3. Now you have the required tools and materials for the job, you know what satellite you are tracking, the next thing is to ask yourself if you want to use a Spectrum Analyzer or ask the Customer to watch for you. Definitely you will need one of them. Nevertheless the easiest way is to get a Spectrum Analyzer or a Satellite Finder. If the customer would have to do it for you, then he or she has to pay much attention to it.

4. Before nailing the dish stand, you should make sure it is nowhere branches of trees, ropes or lines interferences at they may block signal. They are major factors in that you can spend many hours on tracking signal if you do not have a clear atmosphere to deal with.

5. Finally, with the entire above mentioned in place, you are going to do the real job. Thus, tracking signal. This is what makes it an installation in most of the installers’ eyes. Do not be in haste when tracking even if you are ‘grand master’. Relax but pay as much as focus, 100% if you can. I tell you, it may be difficult. Nevertheless, you can. I wish you best of luck.
