A LETTER TO THE UNDONE YEARS

If ever you come across
The great and mighty rivers cross
Watch your feet

And tremble not one spark of fear
Where you call them dear
Watch and dine less

Your fortunes guard
See them as a guide
Not one to dissuade thee

Ride until the days old
And the moon works cold
For the travellers have known since

The maps and geography swallowed
On a horse and be galloped
For the stranger’s welcome

Hope and remember the soothsayers’ voice
If any at all, watch the ocean expand
From her theories
And armor for life
